Professor Narinder Dhiman discovered that he had a gift for singing. It was requested that Jassi Gill pass singing trials. Following his initial trials, he performed at a college function, winning first place for his song. He was refined by Professor Narinder Dhiman, who also helped him become one of the most gifted vocalists in the Punjabi music scene.

A year later, he returned and made another attempt at success with the album Batchmate 2. The most popular song by Jassi Gill is called Lancer.
