Jaani: Punjabi Lyrical Maestro’s Journey to Stardom

Jaani was born in Gidderbaha, Muktsar, Punjab, on May 25, 1989, making him 34 years old as of 2023. He is under the sign of Gemini. He completed his education at Gidderbaha’s SSD Memorial School before attending Rayat Bahra University in Mohali, Punjab, to earn his diploma. He then completed a diploma program in hotel management in Chandigarh. He wrote the lyrics to the song “Soch” in 2012, during his last semester. At that time, Jaani had plans to relocate to Australia to pursue his further studies, but in the interim, his debut single was released and quickly rose to fame. Subsequently, he began to get calls from prominent Punjabi musicians requesting him to work with them. In 2012, Jaani began his lyrical career with the devotional song “Sant Sipahi.” But he became well-known when he wrote the lyrics to the song “Soch,” which Hardy Sandhu sang. With B Praak, Arvindr Khaira, and Hardy Sandhu, he has collaborated since Soch to create smash tunes including “Joker,” “Backbone,” “HornBlow,” “Naah,” “Yaar Ni Mileya,” and “Kya Baat Ay.” Songs like “Taara,” “Ik Saal,” and “Naa Ji Naa,” which became hit songs in 2015, were written by him. Many well-known Punjabi singers, including Sukh e, Jassie Gill, Ammy Virk, Diljit Dosanjh, Hardy Sandhu, Prabh Gill, Amrinder Gill, Kamal Khan, Gippy Grewal, Sunanda Sharma, and Guri, have had songs written for them by Jaani. Records under the “Desi Melodies” label are owned by him. He debuted lyrically in Bollywood in 2016 with Sonu Nigam‘s vocals on the song “Dard” from the movie “Sarbjit.” His vocal debut came in 2019 with the Punjabi song “Jaani Ve Jaani.”
