Early Life

Adhithya Ramachandran Venkatapathy is Adhi’s full name. He was born on February 20, 1990, and Jeeva R. was born on June 29, 1991. The Erode-Coimbatore region’s Puliampatti Sathyamangalam is where Adhi’s family originally came from. Adhi grew up in a middle-class home without any exposure to the arts, including music or movies. While his mother is an agriculturalist, his father is employed at Bharathiar University. When Adhi’s neighbor played “Jam” by Michael Jackson, he was first introduced to rap music

When he was in the tenth grade, he began to become interested in hip-hop music. After posting rap songs online and receiving encouraging comments from listeners who enjoyed his music, he began rapping in Tamil. He decided not to look like a “wannabe” by rapping in Tamil instead of English. To avoid being discovered by his parents, Adhi created an account on the video-sharing website YouTube under the name “Hip Hop Tamizha” and uploaded a picture of the Tamil poet Subramania Bharati. Adhi’s father had at first disagreed with his decision to pursue a music career. Adhi was given a year to pursue his goals, with the only restriction being that Adhi was not to expect any assistance from him. He wanted Adhi to continue his education. He encouraged Adhi after noticing that he was “trying to do some good work”. After that, Adhi relocated to Chennai to “try [his] luck”.

Career / Fashion And Style

He began his career by posting his debut single, “Club Le Mabbu Le,” to YouTube. In the week following the song’s release, more than 2 million people viewed his debut single. In 2005, he and Jeeva founded the musical group “Hip Hop Tamizha.” 2005 saw the release of the first Tamil hip-hop mixtape, “Vishwaroobam Arambam,” and the first album, “Hip hop Tamizhan,” followed in 2012. Additionally, he appeared in several videos, including Excuse Me Kathali, Takkaru, Ezhuvoam Va, and others.

Along with Remy Martin, he worked on the international album “International Tamizhan,” which has eight tracks total, two of which are performed by American singers, “Sol” and “Emcee Call.” The album has not yet been released. He starred as the lead in the 2017 Tamil film “Meesaya Murukku,” which was directed by them.

Other Works

Adhi declared in October 2014 that he was not interested in playing a cinematic hero despite being approached by many. However, he later announced in 2016 that he would be making his acting debut in the film Meesaya Murukku, which he would also be directing and writing the music for. Hip hop Tamizha and Difference of Opinion launched “Tamizhanda Clothing” in November 2013 as a joint venture. “Poda” is a song written and composed by Hiphop Tamizha that honors Sun Music’s tenth anniversary. At Dr G R Damodaran College of Science in Coimbatore, Adhi presented a seminar on brand management titled “Face to Face: Hiphop Tamizhan” in July 2015.
