He battled mightily in his early years as a rapper, earning money by working as an assistant at the “Hard Rock Cafe.” His family did not provide him with any financial support to pursue his career as a rapper. At first, Bantai exclusively used English when rapping, but his father suggested that he use Hindi instead so that Indian listeners could understand him better. Emiway recorded his debut Hindi rap song, “Aur Bantai,” in 2014. Instantly popular was the rap.

In addition, Bantai had tried out for the well-known Indian reality series India’s Got Talent before being well-known. He was honored with the Radio City Freedom Award in “Hard Rock Cafe” in 2016. It just so happened to be the same cafe where he had been an assistant before.

Emiway’s breakthrough came in 2017 when he collaborated with rapper Raftaar on the song “#Sadak.” He started a diss war with Raftaar in 2018. Raftar initially made fun of Emiway by saying that rappers like him couldn’t make money. Emiway then dropped his diss single, “Samajh Mein Aaya Kya,” to which Raftaar replied, “Sheikh Chilli.” That wasn’t the end of it; in reaction, Emiway dropped a new song called “Giraftaar.” 2019 saw Bantai make her Bollywood debut in “Asli Hip-Hop,” from Zoya Akhtar’s movie “Gully Boy.” In addition to rapping in the song, he was also included in the music video.
