Early And Personal Life
Bohemia was born on 15 October 1979 to a Punjabi Christian family in Karachi, Sindh, and received his education in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. At the age of 13, he moved to the United States with his family. Bohemia married Sunny David on 13 June 2015 in a small ceremony in the Bay Area of San Francisco, California.
In early 2000, he relocated to Oakland to work at a recording studio in West Oakland with his cousin. It was there that he met Sha One, a young producer of hip-hop (Seth Agress). When they realized how much they both enjoyed music, they decided to launch their record label, which they subsequently christened “The Outfit Entertainment.” After hearing Bohemia recite something he had written in Punjabi, Sha asked him to rap it over one of his tracks. Over the next few months, he wrote a large number of lyrics. His debut album, Vich Pardesan De (In The Foreign Land), which he co-produced with Sha One and which chronicled the autobiographical story of his life as a Desi boy adopted into the streets of America, was built around this set of tools. Vich Pardesan De included the music video for their first single, “Sha Te Ra,” but not the song itself.
